Joe Flaherty's Dolphins provides swimming instruction for all levels of swimming, from complete novice to two top 16 national swimmers in the past two years. JFD also provides coaches training to provide valuable guidance on how best to instruct swimmers in improvement.

BEGINNER SWIMMING INSTRUCTION |
For the beginning swimmer, the JFD lesson program has instruction for non-swimmers of all ages. The JFD lessons also utilize the SwimAmerica Learn-to-Swim program, designed by the American Swim Coaches Association to motivate and reward each swimmer through promotions from one Learning Station to the next, harder, station.

| STROKE CLINIC |
| Divided into two levels, the stroke clinic is for athletes who want to do well in summer league swimming or for those interested in swimming for fitness. Participants should have some swimming ability before they join the Basic Clinic, and should have a fair amount of swimming experience for the Advanced Stroke Clinic. Practices include an emphasis on learning the most efficient ways to swim all four of the competitive strokes, starts, and turns. The JFD Stroke Clinic program utilizes the SwimAmerica learn-to-swim program, breaking apart each swimming stroke into Learning Stations. Participants in the stroke clinic are promoted through simple drill progressions in each Learning Station until that Learning Station is mastered. Then, the swimmer is promoted to the next Learning Station. |
| ADVANCED STROKE CLINIC |
A continuation of the Stroke Clinic, but lessons can last longer. This is excellent preparation for the Swim Team.

| JFD SWIM TEAM |
| Our coaches will work with swimmers to improve their times in competitive swimming and prepare them for competition in Potomac Valley Swimming, part of USA Swimming. |
