The Joe Flaherty's Dolphins organization offers the finest swimming instruction and coaching in the Montgomery County area. It's founder, Joe Flaherty, has been a full-time coach and has provided swimming instructions for over 31 years. He has helped swimmers from beginning bubble blowers to Olympic Trial Competition.
The organization's mission is to do a small but significant part in contributing to the overall development of young people. This mission is accomplished by building a healthy self-image with which to face the challenges of life, encouraging each athlete daily, building relationships with a sincere commitment to the task at hand, and emphasizing character rather than talent. The organization has many fine qualities that allow it to coach young swimmers with such excellence that there is no doubt that JFD has the finest coaching staff in Potomac Valley Swimming. Key Coaches plan ahead, organize, and set priorities on what JFD wishes to accomplish. Joe Flaherty develops well prepared and complete seasonal practice plans so
that the whole season of training will make our swimmers much faster than when they started. He records swimmers, stars, points, and practice statistics so that the swimmers will always know how good they are and what they need to do to become better. Perhaps most importantly, the coaches guide the families of swimmers on how to set expectations and lead them so that these expectations become reality.
JFD has practices available in two locations across the county: Georgetown Preparatory High School, located on 355 between White Flint Plaza and the Beltway Quince Orchard Swim & Tennis Club, located off of Quince Orchard Rd between Darnestown Rd and Great Seneca Hwy.
